Got my first Indo-Greek Bactrian drachm issued under Menander I Soter, 155-130 BC, Bopearachchi 16C.

Next to this drachm is a fake Bactrian coin, also under the name of Menander that I got years ago in a flea market as an 'unknown Roman coin', feels good to have an actual coin from that era! menan.jpg

Nice! Here's an obol of Eukratides I:

I'm still going to purchase a tet of Eukratides. They come up for sale from time to time but usually go for $1,000 - $2,000 or more. Nowadays probably even more as the coin market is pretty hot. I'd also like to learn about the Indo-Bactrian civilization in Afghanistan. Sort of the setting for the film The Man Who Would be King with Connery and Caine.

Congrats on the great coin @JayAg47 the Indo-Greeks are such a fascinating area. I would love to add more to my collection, but so far I only have one in my collection.

I agree @ancient coin hunter I too would love a tet of Eukratides. My favorite tet has him portrayed from the back holding the spear. Since I first saw The Man Who Would be King I've been fascinated with the Greeks in Afghanistan. It's also one of the best buddy films ever.
