Decided to bid on a couple Heritage auctions for the first time last night. Wound up going 2 for 5 on the ones were there was at least a small amount of serious interest. Got these two...first one at a good price, second one for probably a little more than it was worth. The ones that I bid on, but didn't get were a 1934B $5 Silver Certificate, a 1928 $50 Chicago FRN and a 1928 $20 Gold Certificate. I also passed on a 1928C $1 Silver Certificate which I had previously been really interested in as the price got too high for the condition of the note (didn't like the low position of the serial number and it looked like the note was previously hinged or something) and a lot of 4 PMG graded US Notes which went for a really good price (~$100) that in hindsight I probably should have placed a bid on. Anyway, the whole purpose was to learn more about how the bidding process on Heritage worked...I learned a lot which will come in handy...next time!
nice pickups dursin. i like them both but that light green FRN from chicago might get Urbans attention lol
lol i actually have one of those beauties already. its raw though i need to get it graded. really nice notes dursin. it was about 3 months or so when i first tried using heritage. keep'em coming:thumb::thumb:
Congrats! I am still yet to get into heritage. I am just starting to check it out and might make my first purchase there in a month or so.
I know you have one...it was your posting the picture of it as well as what you paid for it a couple months ago that triggered my eBay search that turned up a 1928C $10 from Richmond for less than you paid for the Chicago note. This Chicago one cost me double what you paid for yours so I definitely didn't get as good a deal on this one. It is the plate note pictured in the Standard Guide to Small-Size US Paper Money though (as is that $2) which is sorta cool. Also, I obviously haven't received it yet, but from what I could tell from the photos, EX40 seems like a conservative grade. Oh, here's the other Chicago note I bid on...just not enough. Noost, I'm not sure which one you like best...
Dursin... nice pick-ups from the Auction. I love the light Green Seal notes!! A Chet Krauss as well!! :thumb: :thumb: SGR (RB)
