Nice coin!---PCGS is a trusted grading company and I would say the grade is right.
I'm not good at grading gold coins---I guess that is because I don't collect them---but I know a pretty one when I see it and this one is really pretty!

I would say that coin is a lock 64. If the cheek wasn't so baggy, it would be a lock 65+ in my opinion.

    Really nice.
Nothing like starting at the top.
    Congratulations.
And, at least no one will say that it is a fake.

How close to right am I when I say that on a coin such as this the places that you DON'T want bag marks or nicks are on the check and face...and the area right in front of the face?....

100% right, all you have to do to see the prime focal areas for grading any coin is look in the ANA grading guide. They show you for every one ;)

Nice undipped Double Eagle with good color. What's not to like?

AH----I had missed that in the ANA book---the PCGS guide has some color "photos" of the prime focal areas but they only did it for a few types of coins and not all of them.
