It was AWESOME!!! Silverstruck1 was with me and he added five new coins to his type set...I sold some junk silver and a 1941 Mercury Dime in MS-65FB (that I just traded off of silverstruck yesterday) for $60. That way I had $100 to spend instead of $40....my coins are below. I met up with Borgovan, and he had some awesome Wartime Nickels...I mean very awesome. I also saw Budgood, and bought a very nice ancient coin off him. He was a very nice gentleman. After that, Silverstruck and I ate lunch, and went on to more booths. I didn't see anything other than my 1990 birth year proof set for $5, so I picked that up. After that, we went back to Budgoods table for about a half an hour, and I bought two more coins off him. We had a nice chat, and he showed my some stuff that I could only dream of having. Even some non-numismatic related stuff that was very cool to look at. Finally, I stopped off at a dealers table that dealt only with ancients and bought me another Gorgon, Along with a Poland Midieval coin and an unattributed coin. We just walked aroung after that, met Borgovan once more and showed off our some of our new coins to him. It was a very awesome show, and I will definatly be their in the Spring. Now, for the pics: Not shown: 1990 Proof set...my cost: $5 Lets start off slow. I found this 1935 Blue Toned BU Wheatie for $1 in a Bargain Bin: The next one is my poland and my unnattributed coin, paid $9 for the pair: he next two are ones I bought from Budgood: First, a 1944-s Wartime Nickel in MS-60 for $2..yep, you read it right..$2: Next, a 1924 Peace Dollar in MS-62 for $15: stainless
NOW MY ANCIENT MOJO's. First, the Gorgon, paid $18 wich is a very good price: This next one..wow, what a beauty. I got this from BUdgood also for just $40. I simply fell in love with this coin when I saw it, and bought it instantly. A pretty awesome day!!! stainless
Glad you had a nice day. I like that last coin also - very nice indeed. I can see why you liked it. Can you tell me more about the poland and the last coin? Circa dates and so on.
The Poland is a 3 Polcher, The Ruler is Sigismund III 1587 - 1632. The Last one is a Roman Republican of Cn. Egnatius Cn.f. Cn.n. Maxsumus. 75 BC. AR Denarius. Bust of Cupid right, bow and quiver on shoulder / Jupiter and Liberty within distyle temple. Cr391/2; Syd 788; Egnatia 3. thanks stainless
Right on, glad you had a good time at the show. That is the best MI show for sure. From what I have heard and read, it was a pretty good show this time around.
Very cool!!! I didn't know that there were so many folks from the great state of Michigan on here. Jack and I are both from that great state!!!
Really great coins. Hey stainless next time you go give me a line and maybe I can meet up and do some coin buying.
Very nice coins man!! :thumb: That 35 I think you did a good on for a dollar, and that poland coin and unattributed look kool (especially that poland IMHO, nice! :thumb). And finally, that cupid, very, very nice in my opinion, I think you did pretty good!! :thumb: Congrats on some awesome coins, and an awesome day man. :thumb: Now to get you here to PA. Phoenix
Sounds pretty awesome, especially for your first show. And I have met a couple of cointalkers, but 3 at 1 show!? Thats great. Congrats on the new acquisitions.
you got a great deal on the peace dollar. I foind shows so overwhelmed with these things that you can't look at them. But you plucked a terrific one at an unbeatable price.! Ruben
I can see why, that's a great looking coin! and nice buy on the $2 war time nickel. Beats mine. I bought one (different date), in MS-60 grade (maybe slightly better) for 3$ about 2 years ago.
$5 for a proof set, $1 for that 1935 cent, and $15 for the Peace??? Dang, that's pretty impressive. I wish Knoxville had a coin show...
stainless - nice finds! I'm glad you had a nice time......I love going to shows, but the only downside is I never have enough money! Even so, it is always educational.
