I am pretty darn sure that this is 1945 d wddo-01 best of variety. Although the hair die marker is missing, it really looks like it. Of course I find the piece of junk one but it's an addition to the collection
Nice find Tyler .. Now re-shot that date and mint-mark, so it's sitting plumb . Your image is -plumb ...
Gotta love that hook on the E on WE! Even with circulation wear, the E can come through for you on strong Class 6. Variety Vista's 001 & 003 are very similar doubled dies, but the MM placement looks good for 001, which cross refs to Wexler's 001. Nice find! http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/DDO 1945-D.htm
I have had this in my coins for a long time too lol. I didn't even notice that I didn't check the bag till like a year later
Same with my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th DDOs. Had a 1857 1C (cant remember but it was a Snow), 1858 1C (also a Snow cant remember tho lol), then in with my random coins was a 1982 Lg Dt Zinc 1C WDDO-004, and in with my copper pennies was a 1978-D 1C WDDO-001.
