Ok..so Im pretty sure I found my first DDR on a 1999 D close am penny. I haven't found any examples of this variety anywhere but I am almost certain this is a DDR. Located only on the word State in the letters S, E and both Ts.Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.

Example: Under the upper portion of the word State you can see visible doubling on the tip of the S, the cross of the Ts and under the top line of the E. Very hard to spot but clearly apparent doubling is present. 20181128_112722.jpg

Could I recommend that you research mechanical doubling and die deteriorating doubling and other wear issues. Not a cursory search eithe but Learn those inside and out. Then you’ll be better armed with knowledge for detecting errors

There are micro errors and single squeeze stuff which Rick S seems to know/research fairly well.

Also read all the posts in the Error and What’s it Worth sections as they pop up. You’ll learn a lot just reading other threads.

I don’t collect cents. And I don’t search out errors ... I think it’s crazy to tell you the truth. I guess all the junk YouTube and clickbait websites have totally turned me off to anything like that.

@Clawcoins thanks claw, I am still very new to it all and am learning more than I can soak in haha. I havent heard of die deteriorating yet and I was sure I was onto something.
Maybe I am getting ahead of myself, thanks for the polite comments and not totally roasting me.

It is very easy to get ahead of oneself. But as long as you are willing to be open to others findings I doubt you will get roasted. It's those that constantly keep saying they have found something and are positive, over and over again, and then argue until the cows come home w/o doing any research, that will surely get roasted eventually. There are always new varieties to be found and this can be evidenced by John Wexler's constant updates at www.doubleddie.com. It's a great learning tool to peruse everything he has written on there. Give that a try and you will be amazed at what you can learn from just that one site. NEVER give up the hunt.
