My First Attempt At A Poll

This is my first attempt at a poll. I have noticed, with great dismay, a tendency for some here to berate this site and similar coin sites as having little to no value. I know it's not the majority per say. Personally I think this site has great value as does many other aspects of the internet in regards to coins. I love it here, so you know what my vote is. I love the interaction, goofiness sometimes but also like seeing new, newer, oldsters and young YN's coming on board. I also appreciate the time and effort of the moderators to keep everything in check to make this a pleasant experience, at least for me. And I really hope it does not come down to the last couple of choice. But it goes where it goes and thanks for participating. All comments, of course, are appreciated.

Quite valuable. The folks can be challenging but it's a great forum and source of information.

 

I think it should be closed down.... After all, I think I am supposed to be working right now......... I am totally hooked on this place. And appreciate that I am tolerated so well.

I'd vote for "tarred and feathered", but not for Peter.

That said, I possess said tendency but context is everything. In some ways (subjects) this site has great value and is an excellent resource, yet in others it wouldn't take much for it to become another black eye upon the hobby. In one area in particular (and I'm sure Tommy knows what I'm talking about) if maybe a half dozen or so members were to leave this place would likely become a garbage dump.

Before I go further, when I said the "internet" has value, I did not mean You Tube or Facebook or any other social media. I meant sites like Wexler's, Bob Neff's, Brian Ribar's and similar others. Way to many to list depending upon your interests. And I am not pointing a finger at anyone as everyone is entitled to their opinions. It is nice to see so far, that the first option is being chosen over the last.

 

I noticed that too late. I don't think I can change it so I'll have to depend on everyone's honesty. Sorry about that. It was my first poll.

 

I have been a serious collector for 70 years and it seems that I can learn something new every time I open the site. Thanks to everyone.

 

Couldn't agree with this more. I could be described as a rabid hobbyist. There are so many truly educated numismatists here. Though I been collecting almost fifty years, I am a newbie to CT. Yet the place has become an invaluable resource to me in the short time I been here.

 

Same here and I have 52 years invested.
