I sent in 9 coins to ANACS for grading. I went thru the ANA beginning grading class so I know just enough to be dangerous. Anyway...I've attached pics of 2 of the Peace dollars. They graded the 1921 a 63 and the 1928 a 60. The pictures aren't great...the obverse of both coins is bright silver. The coins were in a dansco? folder for 50 years so they aren't great but they aren't horrible either. I thought for a 60 the coin had to be truly ugly with no redeeming quality. (I didn't think this coin was horrible). For the 63, I just don't see that many marks on it.

What are your opinions of the coins? Did ANACS get them right?

    Thanks for your help.

I see several distracting hits off Liberty's nose on the 21, and much wear on both sides.

The 28, has a large fingerprint on the obverse on Liberty's neck, some type of substance on the reverse, and I'm surprised ANACS gave it a 60, I would've said AU myself, but that's just me.

The '21 is AU and the '28 should not have been graded at all but put in a details slab.

Huh? ANACS does grade "details" coins.

Doug stated that. Instead of the 28 receiving a grade at all, it should have been in a slab labeled DETAILS, instead of MS60. I'm still surprised it received an unc grade at all.
