my fiancée had never coin shopped on her own. yes, she has a collection of her own, but she always asks me if it is a "good deal" before she buys a coin. so she decided to go coin shopping on her own for our "dating anniversary." i admit, i was scared as to what she would get, but here's what she gave to me as a present... and this one... really?? these are for me?? i feel bad because all i got her was a 1916 mercury dime in ef and i cooked dinner for her. she got both coins for less than $20 combined!! oh, how i love her...
june 6 is 1 year. the wedding is next summer. (yeah, the anniversary is technically on sunday, but we both work on sunday, so we celebrated a couple days early)
Ahh... hmm... well, I was looking in the numbers for some symbolism you could use to explain why you got her a 1916 merc to bail you out since you 'felt bad'... The one and the six are there for the 1 year, sixth month... and of course, the Merc is pretty widely accepted as one of the most beautiful coins minted in the US... I happen to think it is, myself... and, of course, it was the first year minted on a coin that people treasure for a lifetime!!... I am sure there is something there too...
Yeah, I guess so! Just make sure that the gun and fillet knife are hidden when you have your first marital spat. Chris
no symbolism. she collects mercury dimes, and did not have a 1916. she wants her collection in ef. we set a limit of our "gifts" at $20, so i bought it, as it was under the limit. (i don't count dinner in the cost of a gift as i ate it too!)
