I went to the bank today to pick up my normal six rolls of cents and my favorite tellers had saved a few coins back for me. I picked up a 1946 Washington quarter with some toning in at least vf, probably better. I also got a 1943 P wartime nickel and a 1946 wheat. :thumb: I went through my six rolls and pulled a 1917 wheat in the ag/g range. Not a bad day.
You know, if I were a teller, and I didn't collect, I think I'd be saving stuff for a customer like you, too. WTG (...and on that '17 roll find, too)!
You wouldn't like me being your teller! LOL I found a no date buffalo nickel today. Wish I knew what date it is.
If you don't mind it looking somewhat "smoothed-out" (which will also be a telltale sign, it's been "worked"), soak it in white vinegar for a spell (a day, up to four or five days). That'll bring up the date (and mm, if so)...most times. Now it's not going to look like it was minted yesterday, but you'll make it out.
Ok, I'm back after a busy weekend with a pic. Also after the finds at the bank Friday, at my second job I came across another wheat and a 1957 dime. :thumb:
