So, last night my coin club had it's monthly meeting. Normally we have a few minutes of presentations/news, then we go on to the standard raffle (where you have to buy tickets), then the membership raffle (where all you need to do is be a member). Generally we draw six or seven standard raffle tickets and then draw membership tags until we get the name of somone in attendance. So, the regular raffle comes around, and our ex president gets drawn three times in a row. He decides to give his ticket to the first YN who can tell him who designed the Lincon cent. Well that's easy right? So I tell him, and then pick out a coin from the raffle (Most coins in the standered are worth $20-35.). Then the membership rolls around, he pulls out the first name and calls out, "Victor Brenner"... ...He wasn't there, even though he usually comes. He grabs another name, "Inego Montaio"... ...He wasn't in attendance either. Then he takes out a third tag...and does a fake glare right at me. Victory!!!!!!!!! The funny thing is, last June nearly the same thing happened. The first two members called weren't there and the third time it was me. However, last time I pulled my own name.
BTW, I'm so sorry guys. I'm uploading a picture for the first time from my tablet, but I can't figure out how to make it a photo-photo. Erg.
Why thak you Mr. Ed! I was jst woryng abot the speling of one word in a wole pargraph, whitch had TWo exxtra letres. JK! Thanks a bunch!
What an excellent observation. It is also worth noting the author stated, "My jaw is slack, you did good!" Once "good" is changed to the proper "well", I will cast a vote.
First, one is not able to edit poll questions. Second, I'm perfectly fine with my grammer being corrected, that's how you learn. However, I'm not ok with people commenting SOLELY to criticize my grammer. If you want to say somthing about the way I write my posts, at least please have enough courtesy to say 'nice coin' first. Thank you.
This is where an easy request to the mods will come into play as they can change the questions for you. It is a very nice coin and I am happy that you won it but stating this is irrelevant to the individual I quoted and responded to.
Let me get this straight. You were informing a member, in a public thread, who is not the OP, that you will vote in a poll IF the OP changes the phrasing to correct a grammatical mistake. Is that what you intended? Or were you indirectly attempting to address me? Which is it dear sir? Your correctness is confusing me.
P.S., vlaha - that's a mighty fine Flikr page you've got. It's the first time I've seen it. You take better pics than I do.
Dear vlaha, perhaps it is both? Asking three questions about it like has been done is rather confusing. It's probably best to simply draw one's own conclusions about what was addressed to whom in the preceding statements.
Neat coin. I have been wanting to get one of these for myself but I keep spending all of my money on ancients I think next time I am making a purchase I will pick up something American. I have been really enjoying some of the early coins.
It reminds me of an experience when I was about 8. There was a local coin show. You got a ticket when you entered; this was half a red ticket with numbers on each end. You could also buy opportunities to win; these tickets were cream colored with numbers on each end. By and far I was the youngest in the room and they asked me to draw. I picked a red ticket and drew my own number. Many older men in the room were very upset.
