Starting out small, like everyone does, I guess... Here's where I'm at... Nothing fancy, of course. Reverse, will be forthcoming. Had to run out on errands with the Boss. Several are New Orleans and no CCs.

Good coins, can you guarantee there authenticity? Weighed and measured?

Ummmm, sadly no. I purchased most from a reputable coin store. However, one or two are private sales. So, my learning must begin. Should I get a postal scale? How do y'all authenticate?

I wouldn't worry about authenticity for most common-date Morgans. Besides, the wear on the surfaces of the coin can affect the weight. I'd be more concerned about learning how to spot problem coins.

I compare to known die pairings on VAMworld 2 listings, but this method is not the starting point. A scale along with a dial caliper to check outside diameter and thickness at the rim.

Good to see you back in action Chris...

If they were rare dates like 1895, 1893-S, Carson City ones from 1881, 1885, and 1889 I would get them authenticated

Thanks. I'll see if my "boss" already has a scale, so I don't waste money. ;-)

    Here's the reverse sides. Coins are: 1879-O, 1890-S, 1899-S, 1902-O and 1921. IMG_20181228_184208.jpg
