My brother's first coins of the year!

Hi everyone,

My brother has been doing some shopping and I just wanted to show off what he got.

First, Castulo and his sphinx.



Second, Constantius II from the Ihnasyah Hoard that once belonged to the Royal Ontario Museum.



I think he's made a good start.

constans is a good example with a nice mint mark, seems like that's somewhat hard to come by on this type. castulo sphinx is very nice!

He got the Constans coin because he thought it would be really cool to have a coin that comes from the Royal Ontario Museum collection, plus it's a minor upgrade to one he already has.

He really wanted the Castulo with the hand on it.

He just bought a set of three coins for pretty cheap that he's going to try to attribute. I'm going to try and help him We've never tried a shot at attributing, hopefully it all goes well!

Two are the same ruler, the third is a generation later. Look for coins with larger flans and more legends. They are easier.

 

I picked up 2 from that same sale. I thought it would be cool to have coins pedigreed to a museum even if they're common.

I now have one from the same seller on my watch list. I hope it'll still be around when I can get it!

As for the other coins, I think the one with the globe is Constantine. I'm taking a wild guess at the other two. Please forgive me if I'm way off. Could they possibly be Tetricus?

I hope I didn't completely embarrass myself with my noobish guesses. Lol

The only internet access we have at home is through my phone, so my brother got it through me. He'd been looking for one for a while and since you're having a great sale on over at Vcoins, how could he not get it?

I'm going to try and convince him to let us share it.
