Hey everyone. Attached is pictures of my early birthday present from my wife. It is a very nice coin. It is in a PCGS holder, but it is not graded. It says brilliant uncirculated. I tried to research this and all I could find was from some coin shop website that called it the "Stagecoach Series". Any background on this y'all could teach me???? Thanks!!!
My guess is that the holder had something to do with a Wells Fargo Bank promotion or something, given that the stagecoach was their logo when they were still around.
The practice of TPG's assigning a grade of BU is relatively common. If you submit a bulk submission of low end (MS60-62) uncirculated common date Morgan Dollars, you can pay a lower submission fee not to have them individually graded. The reason for this is that there is essentially no difference in price for these grades. The price does not change significantly until you get to MS63+. Therefore there is no benefit to have one of these coins encapsulated as an MS62 instead of an MS60 or MS61. NGC encapsulated a large group of coins from the Battle Creek collection in this same manner. Congrats and Happy B-Day.
Thanks for that input!!!! I got some other goodies too (I bought them) A couple of 1976 Quarter Proofs, a 1981 Quarter Proof, 2007 silver mint set, 2006 american eagle, and some other stuff.
