This past Saturday I posted the results of $100 of Loomis rolls on the "Roll-Searchers, post your results!" thread. It was so good (13 silvers, no enders), I went back Tuesday and bought the remaining $400 from the same box which gave up another 55 silvers including a 53-D Benjamin for a total of 68! The second batch had 8 enders including a double-ender (Benjamin-Kennedy). I decided it was worthy of it's own thread, lol. It was a blessed way to end 2017 and start 2018. Here are the details and pics. Enjoy & happy hunting in 2018!!! $100 Batch: (1) 42 Walker (1) 64 (4) 67 (4) 68 (3) 69 (1) 74-D DDO $400 Batch: (1) 53 Benjamin (5) 65 (5) 66 (16) 67 (18) 68 (10) 69 (1) 75 Panamanian Medio Balboa (equivalent to 50 centesimos)
Nice! Love seein' those white edges in a roll, don't you? Not that it happens to me much. It has been years since I've gotten a roll of halves from a bank. I "hit a nice lick" with three or four rolls from my credit union, once. Every single coin in that batch was a 40% silver Kennedy, with only two exceptions: one was a 1964 (90% silver), and one was a clad (Bicentennial, if I remember correctly). It was probably someone's stash that got cashed in by an unknowing heir. The head teller knew there was silver in the rolls but she still set 'em aside for me. You've gotta love people like that.
Very good hit! I haven't searched any halves yet but wouldn't that be awesome to hit a pile like you found! Congrats!
