well I just took my english AP test today and thought you guys might get a kick outta this

On the the test you must answer what they call a data based question where you read 7 sources and incorporate them into your paper along with prior knowledge
    well wouldn't you know
    the question was

Should the United States eliminate the penny?

ohh I had a kick outta this one

Always helps to have prior knowledge/interest in the question.

So, did you ask them why they were discussing British coinage?

well they did call it the penny

it never mentioned the cent but I did comment on the removal of the dollar bill (but I hinted at letting the Canadians keep the name Loonie)

On a program called "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" they asked the question "how many PENNIES are there in a dollar? Note TV also calls those things PENNIES as does about 250,000,000 others.

... and on an English test, no less !

Normally, those guys are pretty picky about minor points; they truly make mountains out of mole hills. Spider, I think you have 'em on this one !

Brilliant! Pity we can't read your response to the question. And let us know when your scores come in, we're all rooting for you.

Good grief there. Are you trying to be a super intellect? I always hated calculus but for Engineering it is crucial.
