This is another story for the purpose of educating the new collector. For the recording, I am happy with the coin, and the seller. For all I know the seller could be a member here. I do not believe this seller did anything wrong. He is just representing his product in the best possible way. I understood this and did my research. You will soon see why you should research your purchase before buying on eBay. Here is the sellers picture of the coin. He was asking $1800, but was excepting offers.
I then checked the coins certification number with PCGS and found it was auctioned by Haritage at the 2014 Long Beach Expo for $1292.50. Here is the picture from Heritage from the Long Beach Expo.
Armed with the additional information from PCGS which included other pictures of the coin, I was able to get the coin I wanted and needed for $1400 dollars. I am happy and I hope the seller is happy. With the benefit of doing my homework, I was not disappointed. So always do your research before buying.
Magically all of the hits and marks disappeared in the seller's images. I'm glad you're happy...and I'm glad you saw the Heritage images before you purchased the coin.
I saw his coin in another thread without the HA images. I'm at a loss for words in describing the photos of the eBay seller and that's because I'm trying to be kind. Still a nice coin.
It is the Haratige photos for sure. I will say the seller has 100% positive feedback, and lists and sells a lot of coins. He currently has about 15 active coin auctions. He does accept returns. Again, I believe him to be a standup guy..........My point was just to educate the new collector to do your research.
I see more hits in his pics. People think sellers try to cover stuff up, but sometimes it is just the way the pic looks, or how your computer shows it, etc. His pics make the coin look worse for me.
Congrats on the great piece! You did it right w/due caution as Flea Bay is noted to have scammers/ect. on it....
