My 1997/1927 D Lincoln Cent

This is kinda neat, there is what I think is called a cud at the bottom of the 9 and from an angle it seems to look a bit like the date 1927. What would you call it?

Looks like a die crack to me, but kind of hard to tell in the pic, but it is a neat looking coin.
