As you most likely have figured out that I am new on here, so all positive input will be most helpful. Take a look at this 1972 S penny, I believe its a large date, does it have any value above face value?
A lot of Cents minted in the 1970's were Misaligned Die Strikes. Yours is slightly Misaligned. The left side is thicker than the right
Thank you! I know that it's not an ordinary penny. Just want a few opinion on what it may worth. I will post a few 1982s, and a 1997 soon. Thanks again.
I may be wrong but I am not aware of a large date or a small date for a 1972 cent. Only the 1960, 1970, 1974 and 1982
Maybe you are right, but just look up the error(s) on the 1972 pennies...I have, and have found a few. There is something going on with the "W" in we, and the "S" in the mint, the "D" in God. So a closer look, there are a lot of chattering about this coin, I only wanted to know if it was at collectors interest level.
I am not sure by what you mean by "not an ordinary" cent. I do not see based on your photos anything out or the ordinary other than a circulated cent, worth .01 cent. If you see something different you will have to provide a closer image of the areas of the coin you think may have an error. You have already had quite a few years of experience in coins by two well known members who have a wealth of experience, identify your coin as a common 1972 s Lincoln cent. @Idhair & @paddyman98 . Forgive my abruptness as it is not intended to be rude by any means but i see nothing special about it.
Thank You. I am pretty open minded and don't take simple things as offensive. I am trying to zoom into the area (s) of the coin to display so that I may get views on it. But, please keep informing me...I like information, especially constructive ones.
Ha ha ha haaah!!! Tolerance! Tolerance folks, no need for anger.... try this phrase...." don't throw good energy after anger, it does not worth it....energy is too expensive"
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL FATHERS. CAN ANYONE TELL ME....THE CAM AND THE WAM...UNDER MAGNIFICATION....DOES THE "A" TOUCH THE 'M', OR ONLY WITH THE NAKED EYES DOES IT APPEARS SO?
Quite the contrary, I am not upset in the slightest, I was hoping that you would not be offended by my observation. Happy fathers day
I am posting this coin with this mark on the reverse, from the "E and beyond the A" of America. Not sure what could have made it. Also the " A&M are almost touching, and so are the "ERI" . can anyone shed some light on this.
it's called a Lamination Error. Minor Mint Error You should really create separate threads for each coin you have a question about. And anytime I or anyone responds to your questions you should give a like! I won't respond any longer without a like!
I have a funny feeling you'll take this any way other than is intended, but please, consider slowing down a little bit. While most here are more than happy to help, they also want you to learn, and is hard to do when you're firing off questions and not even posting photos necessary to answer them. There are numerous great educational sites that you'd be wise to familiarize yourself with, including this one from reading older threads. The more you learn, the more enjoyable your new hobby will be; please take this to heart. Welcome to the forum.
