i have a 1957-p cent there is some thing between b e in liberty can any one who have expertise in error tell me what they call this also the there what i think doubling on date and the logo in god we trust here is a scan at 2400 dpi
You have what is call a "BIE" error cent, this is caused by "Die Chips" in the die. This it a well known of Error hence the nickname BIE Cent. Also if you look closely at Lincoln's temple area there looks like a Die Crack that runs from his eyebrow to above his ear. Does that line look as if it is raised above the surface of his head? Or do you think it is a scrach? Can you post a photo of the reverse also? Nice well preserved coin for its year. Thanks for posting it.
Did not look that far in, but yes ther seems to be some "Machine Doubling". I can see some in the word GOD. the light angle must be good there. Could be caused by some Die Chatter. Maybe a photo of the reverse?
because i am know at this i forget a coin has two sides they go together here a scan of the reverse of the same coin
thank u for the input finally i post a scan for the reverse i ho u get time to look at it look closely to the T in cent BUTTOM look like a ghost in there
@khalil elara I want to share to share this webpage with you - http://lincolncentresource.com/FAQ/BIE.html
Thanks for posting reverse. very nice. The T looks like it could be another Die Chip. Not really sure with that one . Not sure if it just the lighting or not, but there looks like some Machine Doubling on the reverse to. Thanks to Paddyman for the link post, I looked for it but could not find it. Nice Multi-Error coin.
Hello there, I just got into coins collecting a few months ago. I have the same thing on my 1957 no mint mark.
Great.. here is the information http://lincolncentresource.com/FAQ/BIE.html There are over 1500 types of "BIE" errors. The Majority of "BIE" errors occurred on Lincoln Cents dating in the 1950's.
