Just got them back from PCGS! Low grades, but EXTREMELY rare. The f.e. clashed with $20 gold has a population of 17 coins and the seated quarter has a pop of 7! This is the first time I've put this set together with problem-free coins, and all were found undiagnosed.
Very nice, sir, and congrats on doing it the old fashioned way! One thing to note, and I do not mean this as a negative; TPG populations are a poor gauge of the true rarity of these varieties. Great coins nonetheless and you should do that much better with them being in the right plastic.
Very nice C-B-D. I would love to be able to see them in hand. Thanks for posting them. Congrats on two great finds. Bruce
OK...(dumb question) how does a $20 double eagle die clash with a F.E. 1¢ die? Does it happen as the dies are being changed? Was there some clumsy guy working at the Mint in 1857? Is he related to this guy?
