Has anyone ever had dealings with a place called Museum Surplus? They have some interesting coins.

I've never heard of them either, but I plan to look thru their listings when I have a chance.

Reason I ask is that I bought an Alexander the Great coin from them for $60 and paid with PayPal. They refunded the payment and said that the remaining coins of this offering were not of high enough quality to ask this amount, but they would reduce it to $40 and sell me one. Here is the website (hope this is OK with the rules).

uh? They thought what they sold you was not worth what you paid? Then they offered you another at a lesser price? Seems like either they are ethical dealers or there is something fishy. One can only hope the former and not the latter. You will have to let us know what you think of the coin once it arrives.

That's kind of what I thought too. Will post pictures when I get it.

Strange how many of the images of the coins are from various vcoin & ebay dealers.

He appears to have been an ebay dealer, but hasn't had any sales recently.

What kind of feed back does he have on ebay?

The feedback I saw was all very positive. Think I will try it.

    Feedback can be very deceptive.

Sometimes you have to take a chance
