Here is someone who definitely has NO idea how to grade coins. I saw the title and thought great, then I saw the picture and thought http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11953&item=3934741996&rd=1
I think it's hysterical that there's a reserve on this auction and the combined book value is only half of the starting price. Wonder how high the reserve is? Maybe you get an MS65 coin as a bonus????
Well the pitch certainly got you to look at the auction. While $10 seems a bit much for the $3 worth of Liberty Nickels, I have to give credit for the pitch.
So what is the problem with the ad? MS65 is a grade many "certified graders" like SGS Grading would award! Who cares about ANA standards? Sellers like this these people go after the newbies of coin collecting. Buyer just has to beware! FYI...I do care about ANA standards, but it is quite obvious that many sellers don't!
That's very true, Ed. I wasn't even considering purchasing these for that reason. The ad struck me as funny because of the BU Red 1943's. I think it's amazing how much incompetence and laziness abound today. Sometimes it strikes me as funny but most times I find it incredibly sad.
maybe there is a scale for maximum silliness in ads and this one rates 65/70? i'll go back to my corner now
