MS61, but what is that spot?

I just got this, and I knew that there was a spot or a smudge on the coin to the left of the 1, but I'm wondering what it may be.

Considering it is MS61, one would assume it isn't any kind of foreign object, or pmd, right?

I can provide a scan if necessary, but my scanner isn't very good and tends to blow things up. Let me know. Thanks :D

It almost looks like grease or oil struck into the coin... I see this commonly on Morgans... Not so much on gold but its definitely possible. A close up of the area could confirm.

It could also just be a mark from where something rubbed against the coin. On gold such marks are often black in appearance.
