Hello Friends, Requesting a little help I picked this coin up recently. It appears either AU or MS, but a friend thinks it could be an Indian Proof strike. It is kind or orange-y / red, very lustrous. Does not look like the MS Indian I have.. though perhaps it has been doctored? I tried to take some representative photos, it is hard to capture in 2D how it looks in hand. Would love to hear others thoughts. Best, G.L.
Woah - that 3rd pic I thought I was looking at without my glasses on! If you want to take a good pic of the coin, please take it out of the flip and put it on a white background like a piece of printer paper - that way you can get a much better pic of the details and /or if it was cleaned at one time.
I need better photos but it looks like it could be cleaned based on the first photo. It looks like there are hairlines.
From your pics I doubt it was a proof , it would have squarer rims and details would be sharper . Looks like it was wiped once too with something to leave those hairlines . Though sharper focus pics would help us tell for sure if it was a proof or was cleaned .
