    Hello CT-ers,
I've been slowly putting together what I guess you'd call a 'short set' of PCGS MS-65 Walking Liberty halves. I plan on going bass-backwards from 1947 to 1938 W/ all the P,D,S mints that are applicable. (I already have the 1938-D semi-key)
If any members have suggestions for either facilitating the collecting or have already finished their collecting, I'd appreciate hearing from ye!
    Thanks,
    J.T.

Make sure you are fussy about the MS-65 graded pieces. This was a long time ago, but when I was dealer, the common date MS-65 walker market took a big hit because the TPGs let their standards slip. There were coins in MS-64 holders that were as good or even better than some of the coins in MS-65 holders.

Part of this is due to lower standards, and part of it comes with grader fatigue. After a while you eyes can fall out of head. It's the reason why I would never want to work for one of those companies. They have work quotas and you have to meet them

    Thanks John,
I've noticed in perusing those offered on eBay the disparity in prices for the MS-65 examples.
It's hard enough to find a decently struck example, but when you do, you must pay.
And YES, some of the 64's I've looked at do look better than some 65's.
    .... the beat goes on...

Addendum: Yes, Mt.Man, the Wienman design is not only beautiful but iconic.
