I JUST FINISHED A BIG WRITE UP AND THEN MY COMPUTER TIMED OUT!! SO HERE ARE THE PHOTOS, I WILL INCLUDE ADDITIONAL INFO LATER SERIES 481 ENJOY
Ok, Here are the stats on the Series 481 Issued: 6/20/51 Withdrawn: 5/25/54 Used in a wide variety of countries including: Germany, France, England, Japan, Korea and Philippines just to name a few! Key note,s 1. $5 (very tuff in any grade!) 2. 50 Cents (tuff in high grade 3. $10 (tuff in high grade) Enjoy
Value depends on any given note,s grade and rarity this particular set the $5 is the tuff one! There are only 3 graded higher at PCGS so that is the key note for this series and would have A value of around $450 if you could find one in that grade, this is one that i bought a couple Of years back and had graded myself and i have not seen another graded example since then!! So as far as value of the other notes the $10 in 53PPQ is a high grade as well figure about $650 plus for that one, so i would value this set if you could put it together at all would be around the $1,500 mark upgrades in some notes of course would increase the value! I do have other sets like my Series 661 which is worth well over $5,000 !!
I like the image on the $1.00 denomination best. Nice set. I have the .25cent at 63PPQ, and $10 at 30 very fine. A long way to go!
Thanks for sharing. First time I've seen a complete Series 481 set. It's a real treat to see one. From the photos, it appears as though the graders were really being extra tough on you. The Very Fine-35 rating for the $5.00 note seems rather low. Photo shadowing indicates maybe a single center fold, but thats not enough to drop the rating to a VF-35. Also, the Extremely Fine-45 rating for the $1.00 seems on the low side. Why did they ding these notes and do you accept that you were treated fairly? Thanks, again, for sharing. You deserve anther good on you, so - - - Good On You!
Once again, thanks for the pics on this sest mpcusa. I think that the image and color scheme on the $5 is aesthetically pleasing. Way to go on getting them all in such a great condition.
The grading on the $5 get,s the best possible VF grade there is the next step would be a XF40 designation And because of the rounded corners and such this note could not receive that high of grade it,s a great Note and there are only 3 better then this, so that tells you something right there! not many nice 5,s Out there, It,s difficult to grade any note based only on a picture it just hides to much!
