    Congrats mpcusa...nice paper.

Here are some fact's you may or may not know..

"MPC's all 13 Series of them are lithograph on planchet paper. The printing has been shared by 3 printers, Tudor Press Corp (Series 461, 471, 472, 541) , Forbes Lithograph Corp (series 481, 521, 591) and the BEP (Series611, 641, 651, 661, 681, 691, 692, 701). While the Series 461,471 and 472 were printed by the Tudor Press, they were numbered and separated by the BEP.

The Series numbers were created by using the last 2 digits of the year (46 for 1946) as the first 2 digits of the series number (46 for 461) the final digit was the sequence number of series printed that year. In most cases the sequence number was 1 due to only 1 series being printed."

    Rickie!!!
Glad to read your post and that your on the mend.
And did not know that about the series numbers but it does make sense now.

The eplanations for the series numbers is very cool...
I've got a One Yen MPC that appears to have Series 100 printed on it...any observations in regards to that? (It does seem odd, considering).
And it does have the "Issued Under Military Proclamation" on it.

And once again, those are some truly beautiful MPC's..

All I know on this is that on July 19, 1946 Allied military yen, type "A" (used earlier in Korea) was issued in the Pacific command as an experimental controlled currency. The "A" yen was to be used in official channels in the exact way that MPC was later used. These mpc have a large "A" on the left side of the note with the notes SN imposed over it....

Wish I could help more but thats all I have..maybe lettow will come by later on??

Thanks for posting the beauties MPCusa. I'll just sit back and enjoy without cutting an pasting MPC history from the internet which anyone can do.

So Payton...as usual you make your remarks based upon "no knowledge"!
I can see clearly since I am the only one who posted on the History that you made the assumption that I cut and pasted (copied info from the Internet)...well let me be the first to tell you that that is not the case at all. In fact Mr. Gene Hessler gifted to me a comprehensive booklet on MPC's (and many various Paper Money Resources) published by PCDA back in the early-mid 90's and it is strictly on MPC's and I have just finished reading and re-reading this. This is where the information come's from, not the Net.

I grow tired of you so quickly! Your presence here is one of the few reason's that I am not here as much..you have managed to irritate many of us here and might I add on more than one occassion.

Did Gene Hessler write that one?
I have seen it many times but am too cheap/poor to buy it. There is also a mini version I believe too.

    Duke:

No, he did not write it. From my understanding it was put together by the PCDA and it is one of several that was sent to me. I have long admired mpcusa's collection as well as Mr. Smiths collection of MPC's. While I have no personal collecting interest for these at this time, it does not mean that I am not interested in them. I find it very interesting how MPC's came to be and appreciate the scaricity of some of the issues.
This booklet is not a full fledged "book" perhaps the "mini-version" you speak of.

Close enough RickieB. The net, a book....same same. Start a thread on the history of MPC based on your own private knowledge. I'm sorry you find my presence tiring. Sorry all, there's some baggage here. Looks like you have finally found your "flock" here on this board after roaming from forum to forum throwing your chest out and causing conficts and having to return with new usernames. Had to be their gang. He seems however to have learned and is behaving quite nicely....Keep it going JYD....er RickieB.

How far do you take this exercise, Payton? Is Rickie, or are the rest of us, to not post anything that came from the net, or a book, because it's already been written? What about something someone else told you, is that also not allowable because it didn't initiate from your own brain? What "private knowledge" do you expect to be posted then, and where is is allowed to come from?

You seem to spend a lot of your mental energies on vendettas.
