Would moving my collection from Dansco binders to 2x2's be a better storage solution and does it matter if I use the self adhesive or the staple type of 2x2?

    Use the staples.

As far as better, I would say slightly if you don't like toning, which can happen in some folders.

No, it wouldn't. You would merely be moving your coins from 1 kind of storage method that can harm them to another storage method that can harm them. What you are describing is the frying pan into the fire scenario.

There is only 1 storage method that is not harmful to coins and that will protect them - hard plastic holders.

Going to have to agree with plastic holders

  6. Welcome to CT. :welcome: It depends on what you mean by "better." Do you mean better for preservation, portability, space or display purposes? IMO, moving your coins from Dansco albums to 2x2 holders is not really an upgrade from the preservation perspective. You may want to consider flips or even airtites depending on the coins in question. I have some coins in Danscos (or other albums) and some in airtites...it really depends on the type of coins. :) TC

    what about archival quality flips?

They also have their problems. The coins get flip rub even easier in them because they are harder than the soft flips. And being hard, they have sharp edges so the coins get scratches on them when you put them in or take them out of the flips.
