Well, 2 friends and I went to Wendys late night and we got some nuggets and a frosty. Anyways, I paid and got my change back... a Bicentennial quarter, 2 cents, and a 1982 Canadian Cent. I dont think I've ever seen quite that assortment before. It doesnt sound like much, but its not too often you get Canadian money here in AZ, and Bicentennial quarters arent too common either... what about you guys, what have you gotten at once?
Magman, you mean with all the snowbirds that go to Arizona every year you don't see too many canadian coins, I was in Yuma several years ago and my father inlaw lived and he told me that there were boatloads of canadian snowbirds there every year. I would have though that they would try and pass a bunch of their coins off, espessially now with their money being worth more than the US. John
The neatest thing I can imagine will be possible next year; to get '68-D, '78-D, '88-D, '98-D, and '08-D dimes back in change when the teller runs out of quarters. Of course, it won't happen often, but it will be almost like magic.
A month ago I took some rolled change to the bank and the teller was putting together a set of State P & D quarters for his son. He didn't seem to really care about coins, but rather was just doing this for his son. I just happened to have bicentennial quarter in my ashtray that I went back to my car to let him exchange as well and when he saw it he seemed to be amazed and thrilled, which took me for surprise. I hope the kid liked it. Bicentennial quarters and Kennedy halves are what got me into collecting at the age of 8 along with "old" coins that were dated in the 60's. Its amazing what it takes me now to get excited compared to finding a worn 1958 nickel when I was young.
