I think the offer is legit. The slab looks like a PCGS one even though the label is not pictured. I agree the label should be included in the photos. And if you e-mailed the seller, he would probably send you a pic with a label.

The coin has a soft strike on the obverse, so I am surprised is it in a 66 holder (everything else -- luster, marks, eye appeal must make up for it). For me, that soft strike detracts from eye appeal -- I'd rather have a 65 with a better strike (and pocket the $ I saved!!)

The auction looks good to me too. I think the seller is foolish for not picturing the whole slab, but he has a good return policy. I'd bid on it (if I had the $$) :)

Looks legit. Looks like a PCGS holder. I think they should have taken a picture of the entire slab, or at least another one of the label. If you're ever interested in a coin like this, it couldn't hurt to ask the seller for a picture of the entire slab, or of the label, or at the very least to give you the cert number on the slab (which you could then look up).

I suspect not taking that one extra picture could cost them a few bids and more than a few dollars.

OK Ziggy and rmb86 how the heck can you tell that it is a PCGS holder?

echoing rbm86, obverse looks like something from the new orleans mint. I think this should be sent back for the refund to a 65 grade. Id rather have a mark or two than a strike like that.

Because only PCGS holders look like that - the inner ring around the coin.
