Anyone know the up to date value of Carson City Uncirculated Morgan Dollars? I have two; one from 1884 and another from 1887

    They didn't make a CC in 1887.

@rjb517, welcome to CoinTalk. Chris is absolutely right, they did not make coins in Carson City that year.

Anyway, the 1884 cc Morgan probably has the largest survival rate. Most Morgans are readily available in the marketplace, so the coins condition is key to it's value.

Do you have any pictures you can share? That would help.

Maybe they did... in the B (Beijing) mint?

They didn't make coins at CC in 1886 either.

1886-CC : there's a "private issue", which the TPGs would even slab (private issue = replica)

Ugh! Doesn't even look like Ms. Liberty. The price is equally as outrageous.

Can you provide a pic of all sides? And it looks like they are in a gsa case. Can you take a picture of it with the case included in the picture?

I agree.... why bother with the design changes, additions, etc when they simply could've changed only a single digit of the date while exactly copying everything else? What's good for the goose....

I see on the reverse it says it's a commemorative, representing the ever popular 128th anniversary!

Let's hope they won't issue another commem for the 129th anniversary... so, Mr. rjb517, where are the pictures?

@rjb517, it appears that the coin you posted is still in MS (mint state) condition. I'd grade it no more than a MS63 from your picture. Please also post pictures of the reverse.

IMO, it's worth about $230-$250. I'd hang on to it. Especially since it's a coin passed down from your father.

The CC Morgans were produced from 1878-1885 and again from 1889-1893.
