I have this PCGS MS-64 Morgan Dollar in the old green holder. I have read that PCGS has loosened up a bit on the standards, and was wondering if this may be a candidate for an upgrade MS-65.

I included scans in original and enhanced color to help.

    Thank you.

Based on the hits in front of Liberty's face and on the cheeks, I would say no.

I'm with ND here, this looks prototypical of an MS64.

My $0.02, if it is eating at you, it may be worth the recert. fee.

    I thought so.

With all the cheek stuff, it is hard to believe it got a 64 to start with.

    Or is it?

Looks okay for a 64. With each grade, the number of hits gets less. Hits on the device and in the direction the device is facing are the most crucial.

Also, you risk a downgrade upon re-submitting. 64 looks about right.
