Good evening folks, Would love to hear your oppinion on grade as well as an idea on value if any over bullion Siggi :thumb: Link to HD 4000*2000 Pixels http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee209/siggipalma/1884.jpg
Siggi, those detail are at least xf40 and could even go AU. I am not sure if that is damage across the eagles neck or if the coin was cleaned. If it's original and undamaged it would be worth much more over melt. $70-$150 would be my guess. -greg
Is that line raised? Looks like it's on the fields, but doesn't go through the Eagle's neck. I'd call it low AU, definitely worth more than just melt, but hard to give a price. The price jumps a lot in the AU grades, like a $700 dollar difference between 50 and 58.
I have to agree with this, I would say xf45 as well. Also, there are no top VAMs reported with this date/mint. some minor ones reported though..
A lot would depend on how harsh the cleaning was and whether there is damage as a result. Best rule of thumb, never clean coins. Silver tones, it's a natural process.
Agreed. But don't think that a problem, any problem, only drops the grade down 1. Depending on severity of the problem the grade may drop by 3 or 4 grades. Maybe more.
