Have a Morgan 1882-O that was purchased as an MS64. Two issues...the first is my scanner seems to do a @#$% poor job of depicting the actual appearance of my Morgan. It really looks bad. This coin is silver with mint luster...but does have bag marks? Could someone give me some clues on a better method of 'picturing' coins? My scanner (Epson) is set on full color and at 200 resolution.

Also does this coin look like an MS? Thanks

It looks 63/64 to me, I agree your scanner leaves some features pretty iffy . Nothing unusual, New Orleans is known for weak strikes...

Thanks Ben...maybe if I took it at a higher resolution. I was worried that the forum would not accept something with too many 'bytes'! i'll have to experiment.

Welcome to the forum. I would go with MS63 - no expert here, plus I can not see enough to go higher. The coin looks nice - I recommend getting a digital camera, they do much better than scanners - and use photobucket like recommended.
