First time trying to post a pic of my coin. As you can tell i am a real newbie...haven't posted much...but am an anxious learner. Read the posts all the time. This coin was purchased by my Dad as a MS64. I have been trying to scan a pic that would represent the condition of the coin. With my scanner at full color and a resolution of 200 seems to be the best...but boy does the coin look beat! These coins have a mint luster and are obviously uncirculated but have bag marks? and occasional dings? Can someone give me a better way of picturing coins? Just looking at this Morgan...do you think it is a MS64?

I feel humbled by so many experts...please give me your input as to how to take good pics (preferably on a scanner) and your opinion of this Morgan. Thanks.

As you already know, scanned images leave a lot ot be desired. If you want to improve considerably on that, I'd recommend a digital camera with macro capability. There are many to choose from, a number of which are even affordable.

The coin in question looks as if it grades somewhere between AU and low grade MS (perhaps MS62), but not as high as MS64, due to what look like noticeable abrasions and possible rub on Liberty's face.
