We really can't tell if they're PL or DMPL from pics . Only you can in hand by testing to see how far the fields will reflect . Put a scale perpendicular to the coin if you can see the 3" mark clearly it's PL .
Though like I said in the other thread I'm not sure of the actual distance . But 3" seems to be right for PL . I'll check my PCGS book .

I'm not trying to be hard on you, but if you plan to collect Morgans, it would be in your best interest to learn to grade them. You can start by buying the ANA Grading Standards for United States Coins. In addition to that, you should also look at as many certified coins as possible at your local dealer and/or coin shows.

Thanks Chris. I do think I know how to grade them but would like to see what you all think about it. But with PL it is kinda hard to tell sometime.

Best place I've found so far to see a lot of coins graded is on Heritage's website. Comes in really handy I think.

I was just going to mention Heritage , until I read your post . It's a great resource for cost , grading and looking for and comparing Die marriages .

Talking about die marriages, I am looking for a 69-s that has the same reverse die as the 69-s ddo... I bet it was used for a while after they pulled the ddo die. I scored a ddo last year (was graded and sold by Heritage, look for lot 3600 in the november auction), so now want to find an example of the reverse die used with it. would be a pretty neat conversation piece.

The reverse die is unique enough, with the die polish lines, that it would be easy to tell that it is the same die. I used the reverse to make sure I did indeed have what I thought I had. I took it to denver to Anacs to get slabbed, and they didn't even believe me when I told them what I had! The guy at the front desk took it back to one of the graders to look at, and when he came back, he told me I indeed had a 69-s ddo, and that it was the first he had ever seen!
