Well I got my package today, 10 Mercury dimes for 10$. These were all early dates too, from 1916-1919, and 1924. Lets just say, I got excited when I saw those 2 1916's! lol One was Philly, the other San Fran... no D. haha. oh well. Still nice to have some early mercs!
Yeah, I got a few 1916's Mercurys. When I get really bored, I pull them out and just check "one more time" to see if there isn't a 'D' on the back. Oh well - it floats my boat.
I'm sort of a Mercury Dime nut. I too have a tendancy to go back through all of them looking for something I missed previously. I have a minimum of 3,000 of those things. I remember when it was advertised about the 42D/41 many years back. Naturally I went back through every Dime looking for that one and any othe possible over dates. For some time I've been getting them for $1 or less each from a dealer at the flea market. One of them about a year ago was a 42/41. His prices are so that if you buy a quantity, they are a little cheaper. I usually get them for about $90 each if he has about 20 or more. This guy is not really what you would call a highly educated coin dealer. He dumps all US coins in one bin and all foreign coins in another. And when I say dump, that is what he does.
