Visited my son in next town over & was getting cash at a branch of my bank I don't frequent. As my habit I asked if they had any dollar coins. The teller said, "I have some, but they're not US coins. I'll give them to you if you want, they clog up our count machines because of their odd shapes." Of course I gladly accepted the free specimens.

That's awesome and I am definitely jealous! Something about my face usually says "I'd rather throw this in the garbage than give it to you for free" so... good for you :)

I do find a few foreign coins - usually Canadian or Barbadoan? Barbadosean? ... coins from Barbados.. in dollar rolls I get from the bank. Even from full boxes of dollars coming from wherever the bank orders them from. I often feel :/ about not getting a dollar I paid for.. but I also enjoy the fun of getting a cool coin.

Enjoy!! And, thanks for sharing :)
