The Morgan Dollar has always been my favorite.

 

Why is the St. Gaudens not on the list? Or the $10 Indian? Or the Susan B. Anthony Dollar? (OK. Strike that last one.)

 

You left out 2 of the top 3 collected coins. Are you trying to tell us something?

 

And IMO, rightly so. Just because everyone collects Lincoln Cents and Washington Quarters, that does not mean they have outstanding designs. The SLQ, Walker, Mercury Dime, and Peace Dollar are fantastic designs and no President can compare. Having said that, the OP should have made a disclaimer about just silver coinage. The gold designs (St Gauden & Indian Eagle) are superb.

 

Aside from your gold, he also excluded one of your silver favorites. And, he could not have limited it to silver coinage and included the Buffalo nickel.

 

Nobody's perfect! He meant Mercury Dime, I am sure of it.

and its really a 19th century design.

If I had to vote for the best design ever, Morgan's...hands down.

followed by the SLQ and the Buffalo close seconds..
