Anyone else planning on attending the MOON SHOW (Oct 12-14) in the Twin Cities, MN? I'll be taking next Friday off and attending when it opens at Noon. Bill Kalmbach of Nilus Coins will be having a table there with "an extensive inventory of ancient coins at all price levels. Particularly strong areas include Greek silver, Roman silver, Roman Egypt, and late Roman bronze.” I'm hoping to pick up at least one coin... My fiancee is hoping for just one.
I have been to the MOON show before... really cool venue... but I may not make it this year, unfortunately. I will try to wriggle a few hours in if I can.
If I am in town I plan to go Friday afternoon after work... don't go snapping up all the good stuff before I get there Justin! Edit to add: has anyone been? Is it good for Ancient's?
The few times that I have attended I didn't see too many ancients, maybe 1 or 2 dealers out of the entire bunch. It features the standard coin show fare: lots and lots of US, a fair amount of non-US and a tiny portion of ancients and medieval. Things could change this year, of course, but if the law of induction holds it will probably look similar to the previous years.
Oooh, I hadn’t heard about it until now but may check it out! I didn’t realize there were other twin cities/MN ancients people on CT!
