Ever notice that the various colors of US currency match the various colors of Monopoly money?
    One is white.
    Five is pink.
    Ten is yellow.
    Etc.
    I wonder why.
    Coincidence?

What is the new $20? If it's green you are right on. We need a yellow hundred and an orange $500 to prove your thesis!

There's a graphic out there somewhere that depicts this.

The reason the colors are the same as monopoly money is to make the transition easier when monopoly money becomes the standard of US currency. We are almost there.

There is (currently) no US $500 note.

Really clever! Nice catch. In the past, I have defended FRNs against the charge of "monopoly money" on the basis of their complex security features and ultra high quality printing. I see now that I must adopt a new understanding. Vivere est discere.
