Providence company patents banknote cleaning machine http://www.providencejournal.com/br...company-patents-banknote-cleaning-machine.ece
Strap searchers will be wondering if their notes have been cleaned or not... I can already see eBay listings with sellers purporting notes as "pre-Spectra era".
If they sell these to the Federal Reserve Banks, can they also sell them to grading companies? The cost, I would guess, must be substantial. The machine itself has a limited market unless there is more to the story left untold. Is their future tied into selling the supplies to keep the manufacture in business?
The article suggests it not only cleans but in the photo's caption, detects counterfeits... How it does that would be pretty impressive as well as proprietary and a matter of state secrecy.
