The 2 franc "Emis en France" note was issued by the Allies late in World War II; similar bills were printed for Germany and Italy to replace enemy currency as parts of Europe were liberated, until the final surrender in May 1945. The proper name is "Allied Military Currency," and it was printed in the U.S.A. by Forbes Lithograph in Boston. There were many varieties and denominations.

Allied Military Currency did not replace any currency during or after WWII. Pre-war Banque de France notes, notes of the Reichsbank, Bank of Italy and Bank of Japan continued to circulate along with AMC.

I love the history the most about paper money and coins/medals and tokens. Very interesting. Thank you.
