Can someone please help me with finding the monetary value for this dime? The dime is in perfect condition, was made in 1854 with arrows by the date. Thanks.
If you are looking to sell this and they offer $15, take the money and run. 1854 is also a very common date.
You should take this as an opportunity to learn to grade... https://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#/Seated10/Grades Look at VG10 and F12... notice how the head of liberty on your coin is mostly flat, but has a little detail? Also notice the letters in the ribbon LIBERTY lower right? To grade F12 you would need more letters. So your obverse is VG10. To finish grading, we need to see the reverse. However, see the scratches across the elbow and belly and legs? Those would probably be recognized as damaged and cause the coin to be graded as "VERY GOOD DETAILS". Go check eBay for similar coins... SOLD listings (any fool can list for anything they want) https://www.ebay.com/b/Seated-Liberty-1837-91/11958?Year=1854&Grade=VG%2010&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1 $10 So, somewhere between $5 and $15 is probably fair.
The monetary value of the coin is what is stamped on the reverse of the coin......10 cents. The numismatic/collector value could be higher.
