I just received my report card back from John Wexler today. And I have found and he has attributed a discovery doubled die. It is a 2009 P Professional Life Lincoln Cent and will be in his updated report as WDDR-030. There is always something new to be found and why I never give up. No photos until you see one in his listings. I cannot capture it myself. But I do have a total of 5 rolls of these from one bank box. My next pondering is, what should I sell them for? I only need one or two for myself.
Congratulations! It's not what you should sell them for, it's what is someone willing to pay for them.
Milk it for all you can, my friend. Fluff up the discovery, pat yourself on the back as the discoverer, and play salesman. Basically, try to capture the (very thin) market for them while available by trying to create one. That said, I'm guessing it's a very minor variety? If so then you know the long-term demand will likely be very little, but if you can pull a few bucks a pop and are willing to make the effort to do so, that's a perfectly reasonable range imo. Congrats!
The market on these has been pretty slim nearly nine years later. The doubling occurs at two window panes on the reverse. It was easily discernible with the naked eye. I'm going to try and cherry pick some, maybe 10 of the very best of these and cross my fingers for a nice grade and submit to ANACS on their next special. I also need to get in my 2 1998 P LHC WDDR-001A's EDS in at the same time. Thanks for the responses.
Thanks, Tommy. If visible to the naked eye, perhaps it is worth doing as suggested. As the old saying goes: there's no harm in trying. Although still sitting on a bunch of individual examples of a few different varieties, I got out once the 2010s were released. It was good while it lasted though, and I did quite well with the 09s but was mostly from selling boxes. Good luck!
