The Israeli Govt used to issue an annual proof-like set at a very reasonable cost. Suddenly, they stopped. Do they still issue coins with the date on them? I emailed them but got no response. No yearly sets are listed on their website. It is like a mystery! The last set of coins listed is from 2001. How can this be?

Israel is still making their annua

Israel still issues annual Hanukka Mint sets on an annual basis although they have discontinued offering the Piefort sets. I have created a link to many Israeli Numismatic and Philatelic sites if you are interested.

You can also find many Israel coins and sets offered on EBAY and YAHOO AUCTIONS

Here is the 2006 Set.... 2006 SET LINK

Collecting Israeli coins is a great way to show your support for the great state of Israel.

The dates are in Hebrew - fyi.

I hated that when i was in Israel. I had to ask my friends how old the coin was, lol.
(i can read hebrew, and know very little, but not nearly enough to translate a date)

There are some very nice medals in this collection of these Israeli products. My favorite is the Chagall Violoniste Bleu Bronze Medal. Not sure I know exactly why. I think the bronze medal has artistic perspective and detail. Many of the other coins and medals have that simple, blocky, look that is so common in modern European and Israeli coins.

Greetings and welcome to the group. None are much older than 1947.

    Shekel

Thanks for the welcome Bone. I know my Israeli coins aren't very old. But I'm trying to figure out exact dates on all my foreign coins. These Israeli ones are tricky. I have some shekels, which I was told are from no earlier that 1985. Also, I have some 10 agorot coins that I'm guessing are from the 80's or 90's. Any clue?
