Does anyone think it is worth it to slab modern gold eagle proofs or to leave them in the original mint package?
It depends on what you want to do with them. This question comes up all the time about various coins. The answer is always the same - it will never change. If you plan to keep the coin and are happy with it as is and are content that it is genuine - why slab it ? You can provide the same level of protection that a slab provides by buying your own coin holder. But if you ever plan to sell the coin - then yes have it slabbed. It is easier and you will receive anywhere from a slightly higher to, in some instances, a lot higher price on the sale.
that makes sense.there doesn't seem to be too big a jump unless you get 70.i don't plan on selling but i am sending some other coins in so i thought i'd check.thanks
