I have a 2000 New Hampshire state quarter that is misstamped. It does show the date and the "P". The face side is slightly too far up and right, leaving a quarter moon shaped blank place on the quarter. Is this worth anything? I'm not a collector, just found this in change at work. Sorry if I don't know the correct terminology. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Can you provide a picture, and will you? :)

Sounds like an off center error. How much the error adds to the value depends on how far off center it is; the more off center, the higher the value. Also depends on the overall condition. With a pic I'm sure people here could give you a decent estimate on its value.

It also sounds like an off-center error to me! State Quarters that are off-center usually bring fairly high prices especially in BU grades. Although you found the coin in your change, if it did not suffer much circulation damage (scratches, nicks, dings and/or corrosion) then it could grade as AU and possibly a low BU. If you can provide some good, in-focus pictures of both the Obverse and Reverse, we should be able to give you a reasonable assessment on the grade of the coin. In the meantime, you can search the "Completed Auctions" of off-center Quarters on eBay to see what kind of prices they have been bringing.

    Good luck...Frank

    Hey YoYo,

I do not know what your problem or beef is but this is not a website or forum for such trash! There are young kids and teenagers as well that seek out information and knowledge on the forums that Coin Talk provides. Please edit your posting and remove the bad language. Otherwise, one of the Moderators will remove it!

He's clearly a troll. He's got about 10 posts like that about now.

What has been said already about your coin is true...but I try not to let people jump to the thought that their coins might be worth $$$....
For an good price on a off center quarter it must be off pretty much...it must lose some detail....from what I read it sounds like yours isn't far enought off....a photo will tell for sure.

    Hi,
In order for the coin to be an off-center struck piece, the reverse has to be off-center to the same degree as the obverse. Is that the case with your coin?
If the obverse is off-center and the reverse is normal, then the coin is struck by mis-aligned dies. If you can give us an idea as to the what the reverse looks like, we can add a little more detail to our answers.
    Thanks,
    Bill
