Missing letters

    This 1973 penny is missing the letter E of E pluribus unum and the top part of the second T of STATES, what's going on with it 20200415_092550.jpg

    Worn Die. Struck through grease.

    Greaser. Compacted grease on those letters on the Die did not allow it to be formed properly when the blank was struck.

    That's a known bad spot for weak letters due to the overall design. Add grease and or debris and worn dies and it's common.

    NAV= No Added Value. Neat if you want to keep it, but they are found frequently.

    I just noticed the A in America looks like a line on the right side or is it lighting playing tricks on my eyes
